Stamping her classy high heels all over the original Get This Party Started by Pink, Dame Shirley injects sexiness and camp into this Linda Perry-written club chestnut.
Dame Shirley Bassey’s Get This Party Started single dropped July 16 in the UK, and should make its chart appearance by next week. Hope the Brits liked it - this revival of Get This Party Started deserves to go gold! Platinum! Wouldn’t it be awesome if the nine-week run of Rihanna’s Umbrella were ended by a woman twice her age?

when i first read this post i was like…hmmm, shirley bassey singing ‘that’ song? hmmm. but after listening to it, wowsers, it’s so great how her voice suits the song perfectly (or is it the other way around?haha) and i can just feel that tinge of espionage in it
I got the album…you should listen to her cover versions of “I who have nothing”…Jordin Sparks’s version is TRULY nothing compared to this….and surprise…surprise….Dame Shirley covered the quintessential gay theme song “I will survive”…she made it so gay it is like a twice-operated tranny doing the can-can….love it!!!!!
