It’s shocking how many people dislike Rascal Flatts, but I don’t include myself in that list. I love Rascal Flatts, as does my wife, Cathy. The carrier single of Still Feels Good, the new Rascal Flatts album out late September, is arguably the group’s best single since Bless the Broken Road.
Co-written by can’t-do-nuthin’-wrong country superstar Kenny Chesney, Take Me There has an irresistible hook, unforgivably mushy lyrics, and, as always, a powerful delivery by lead vocalist Gary LeVox (what can you expect from a gentleman whose name is French for ‘The Voice’?). In other words, Take Me There is another #1 Rascal Flatts song just waiting to happen.
I don’t really care if country purists hate on Rascal Flatts, harping on a saccharine-sweet delivery or boy band tag, because, at the end of the day, Rascal Flatts will sell millions of copies and go straight to #1 on country radio. (If Rascal Flatts weren’t country, country radio wouldn’t play ‘em, now, would they?) I ain’t no purist, I just like me some music that I enjoy. And this is it. Rascal Flatts’ Take Me There. i also love rascal flatts. I love their new song and i know i will love the whole cd. I love all of their cds, they truly are amazing. And i hope to be able to meet them for the first time in Sept. I have been a fan for many years and i am a member of their fan club.

Just seems like the record companies are foolish to release these songs before people can buy them doesn’t it ?
I think it actually promotes the loss of royalties to the writers by doing so….
I love all there music, it is so real, their songs are from the heart. I think that if you really listen to the words that they are saying, there will come alot of answer that you have been look for, or feelings that someone else feels that you thought no one else could feel. Rascal Flatt truely sing from the heart. keep up the good work.

As a songwriter myself, I can speak for the inadequate legal protection given most songwriters for their songs. In the USA, songwriters receive royalties per song sold digitally or as part of an album; in the Philippines, we don’t even have that luxury.
Be that as it may, it would be foolish for a record label to release an album without pushing a song to radio. Unless an artist tours extensively - which is impractical for a country like the USA, which is terribly large - to promote the album, no one will ever have the opportunity to know of what to expect from an album or an artist. The singles give us an idea of what to expect, and entice us to buy the album.
In this digital age, websites like MySpace.com or GannsDeen.com provide people with the opportunity to hear a song, in the process, encouraging these people to purchase the digital single or album (giving your songwriter some royalties), or support the artist by going to see them in concert (which is where the real money lies, by the way).
The flip side is this: a songwriter without a hit song makes the songwriter no money. Websites like mine, which allow people to listen but NOT download, which becomes piracy, actually helps make money for songwriters by exposing people to the song and encouraging them to get the single. (I’ve never posted a song I didn’t like.) Occasionally, a person might think of streaming the song daily from my website until s/he tires of it, but I don’t know if that’s ever happened.
And tell your friend congratulations. “Take Me There” is a spectacular song. I wish him the best in his songwriting career.
I love Rascal Flatts…thank you so much for making this so easy to find and listen to. Everytime I turn on the radio, I hear the last 2 lines of this song…and I really have wanted to hear it for the past few weeks. I finally got to hear how amazing it is! Thanks again!

Gary is the most talented male vocal in country music today. No one can touch him. They are one of the few acts in country music that put together complete albums where every song included could be released to radio. I am not only looking forward to their new album but also hearing the duet they sing with Reba on her upcoming duets album. And for future reference how awesome will the new songs be to hold up to what is sure to be the best greatest hits album ever.
Hmm, so I saw and met Rascal Flatts, got autographs and all. I must say that they put on such an amazing concert and they really know how to make people love them. They’re amazing. I’m so happy on how far they’ve come along. It’s cool to know that other people are as big as a fan as I am. Thanks for supporting the Rascals!

I love this song because I had someone who wanted to do the same for me and everytime I hear this song it remineds me of him. I really care about him. I love everything about Rascal Flatts. I thought that the song they did was really cool. I agree with these people that I can’t wait to buy it and then the next album after it unless they broke up. I never liked country music but my Aunt Eileen McBride got me liking country music and now I do. You should have these people listen to The Backstreet Boys newest song Inconsolable.
